Deep Plane Facelift

With Dr. Samir Ghoraba, a deep facelift is performed by making a surgical incision in front of the ear and extending it behind the ear in the case of a neck lift as well. The face is what defines our identity. When we remember a person, we remember their face first in our mind. It is the focus of attention, and we all strive to preserve the beauty and harmony of our faces in the different stages of our lives. However, many factors negatively affect our bodies in general and the face in particular. The most important of these factors are sun exposure, weight changes, aging, gravity, and smoking, among others. With age, important changes occur, including loss in the volume of deep and superficial fat of the face, relaxation of the facial muscles, sagging of the skin, accumulation of fat in the neck area (known as the jowl), the appearance of expressive movements (wrinkles) around the mouth, eyes, and forehead, and the disappearance of facial selection, resulting in a square shape. If you are experiencing any of these signs, you should visit Dr. Samir Ghoraba for an examination and to determine the appropriate medical procedures to solve these problems. These procedures may include non-surgical methods such as fillers and Botox, as well as surgical methods such as fat injection, mini facelift, or deep facelift.

How is a deep plane facelift performed?

A deep facelift is performed through a surgical incision in front of the ear, which may extend behind the ear if a neck lift is needed. Dr. Samir Ghoraba then performs a surgical dissection of a specific part of the facial skin and enters the deep facial tissues to address sagging facial muscles before restoring them to their natural position. The muscles are fixed in their natural position to achieve a beautiful, natural, and attractive shape. Excess skin is removed before the wound is closed accurately. Additionally, excess fat is removed from the neck and fat is injected into certain areas during the same surgery to restore full and natural freshness to the face.

What are the advantages of a deep plane facelift?

Dr. Samir Ghoraba’s centers are the only centers in Egypt and the Middle East that perform deep facelifts. Traditional facelifts only tighten the skin and use simple stitches to strengthen the muscles, resulting in temporary results. In contrast, Dr. Samir Ghoraba’s deep facelifts provide natural and long-lasting results. He repositions the muscles to their normal position instead of simply shortening them. A deep facelift is the best procedure for sagging around the mouth and chin, neck sagging, signs of aging in the lower two-thirds of the face, loss of fat in the cheeks, sagging cheeks, sagging around the eyes, and lack of definition in the jaw and neck bones.

Facelift scars

The scars are located in front of the ear and may extend behind the ear in some cases. However, these scars are not noticeable, and Dr. Samir takes certain measures during and after surgery to ensure that the scars become unnoticeable and fade over time, typically within 6 months. The pictures show facelift scars in different stages of healing.

Post-deep facelift instructions

After the operation, the head should be kept elevated at a 45-degree angle for 7 days. Ice packs should be placed next to the upper third of the face continuously during the first three days to reduce swelling. It is normal to experience swelling in the first three days, which will gradually decrease within 2-3 weeks. A light diet should be followed, starting with warm water and fluids after the operation and gradually transitioning to normal food the day after surgery. Foods that require a lot of chewing should be avoided. Strenuous activities, lifting heavy objects, bending, and violent movements should be avoided for 3 weeks. There may be a feeling of stiffness or numbness in the face, which will gradually reduce and return to normal. Smoking should be avoided for two weeks after surgery.
